Students at West Kirby Grammar School are celebrating an outstanding set of GCSE results, reflecting both their academic ambition and the commitment they have shown throughout their time at the school. This year's results continue the sustained pattern of strong performance and development seen at WKGS over recent years, with an Attainment 8 score of 68.5, representing an average performance of almost Grade 7 – broadly equivalent to an A under the previous GCSE grading system.

An impressive 17% of all grades were awarded at Grade 9, with 37% at Grades 9–8, 59% at Grades 9–7 and 80% at Grades 9–6. The strength of achievement across the cohort is particularly impressive, with 28 students (16% of the entire year group) achieving Grades 9 or 8 in every one of their GCSE subjects. Outcomes in the core curriculum were also exceptionally strong, with every student securing at least Grade 4 in both English and Mathematics and 91% achieving grades 9 – 5 in English and Mathematics.

Success has been broad across the curriculum, with excellent outcomes within the sciences, humanities, creative and practical subjects alongside the core curriculum. This breadth is an important reflection of the education offered at West Kirby Grammar School, where academic excellence is pursued across disciplines and students are encouraged to discover their individual strengths, interests and ambitions.

While the school is enormously proud of these results, examination grades capture only part of what makes this particular year group so special.

Throughout their time at WKGS, these students have made an exceptional contribution to the culture and community of the school. They have embraced the individuality of those around them, understood that success and fulfilment look different for every young person, and consistently celebrated one another's talents, interests and achievements. Through leadership, enrichment, music, sport, performance, community activities and countless everyday contributions to school life, they have demonstrated the kindness, curiosity, ambition and sense of community that sit at the heart of a West Kirby Grammar School education.
