West Kirby’s Winter Wonderland is back for 2026!
Join us at West Kirby Grammar School for a wonderful festive day for the whole community, packed with Christmas shopping, delicious food and drink, entertainment, family activities and the return of our hugely popular Santa’s Grotto.
More than 1,000 people joined us last year, and this year we are planning an even bigger Winter Wonderland.
Whether you are looking for unique Christmas gifts, bringing the children to see Santa, meeting friends for something festive to eat and drink, or simply getting into the Christmas spirit, we would love you to join us.

What’s happening at Winter Wonderland?
There will be plenty to enjoy throughout the day, including:
- A Christmas market featuring artisan stalls and local traders
- Unique gifts, crafts and Christmas-themed products
- Outdoor hot food and drinks
- Indoor refreshments, including festive drinks
- Santa’s Grotto
- Live performances from WKGS and local choirs
- Christmas games and activities for children
- Raffle and tombola
- Plenty of festive atmosphere throughout the school
Entry to Winter Wonderland is completely free.
Come along for an hour or make an afternoon of it – everyone is welcome, whether or not you have a connection with West Kirby Grammar School.
Meet Santa at Winter Wonderland
Santa’s Grotto is back!
After selling out last year, Santa will once again be joining us at Winter Wonderland. Our 45-minute festive experience gives children the opportunity to enjoy some Christmas magic before meeting the man himself. Your visit will include:
A festive Christmas story
Enjoy a special Christmas story as part of your journey through the Grotto.
Meet Santa
Each child will have the opportunity to meet Santa and families are welcome to take their own photographs.
Christmas crafts and colouring
Children can enjoy festive crafts and colouring activities during their visit.
A Christmas gift
Every child visiting Santa will receive a selection-box gift.
Write to Santa
Children can also write or bring along their Christmas letter for Santa.
Places are limited and the Grotto sold out in 2025, so advance booking is strongly recommended. Children under 10 must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or carer. Please tell us about any relevant dietary requirements when booking.

Christmas shopping
Support local traders and find something special
Our indoor Christmas market will bring together a fantastic range of independent traders, makers and small businesses. With more than 30 traders joining the event, there will be plenty of opportunities to pick up Christmas presents, stocking fillers and something a little different from the high street.
Buying from our stallholders also helps to support local independent businesses in the run-up to Christmas.
More trader announcements will be added as we get closer to the event.
Food and drink
Alongside our Christmas market, we will have a range of hot food and drinks available outdoors, with further refreshments available inside including a licensed bar.
Whether you are looking for something warming while you browse the stalls or somewhere to meet friends for a festive catch-up, there will be plenty to enjoy.
Details of our food and drink traders will be announced ahead of the event.
Supporting our community
This Winter Wonderland, we're supporting Wirral Foodbank
This Winter Wonderland, we're supporting Wirral Foodbank and we would be grateful if you could bring one food, grocery or toiletry item per person when you visit.
Donation points will be available at the event and all donated items will be passed to Wirral Foodbank to help support people and families within our local community.
Winter Wonderland also raises funds for the WKGS School Fund (Registered Charity No. 514834), helping us to provide additional opportunities and resources for students at West Kirby Grammar School.

We welcome applications from local businesses, independent makers, craftspeople and food and drink traders who would like to be part of Winter Wonderland. Last year's event attracted more than 1,000 visitors, and we are working to make the 2026 event even bigger.

Trader Expression of Interest Form
We review expressions of interest to help us create a varied Christmas market and avoid having too many stalls offering very similar products.
If we are able to offer you a place, we will ask you to complete our Stallholder Booking Confirmation, confirming that you have read and accepted the stallholder terms and conditions. We will then send you a payment link to secure your booking.
Stallholders will also be asked to provide appropriate public liability insurance and, where applicable, relevant food hygiene documentation before the event.
