Sixth Form Enrichment Programme activities during Lockdown

Despite the constraints and challenges of another lockdown, we have persevered this term with our diverse Sixth Form Enrichment Programme and our students have participated in a variety of activities, including working as Peer Educators with our younger students and preparing for a Bar Mock Trial event.  A number of students in Year 12 and Year 13 have been learning British Sign Language and working hard to complete the six week Introduction to Sign Language Course and have gained a well-deserved certificate.  Miss Keating and her Y12 Creative Writing Group have enjoyed producing some wonderful poems, short-stories and illustrations as well as organising a Zoom call with The Old Garden Nursing Home in West Kirby, entertaining the residents by reading their pieces to them.  Finally a huge thank you to the Rotary Club who kindly made donations to Alder Hey and World Vision charities on behalf of our Rotary Interact group after the closure of school in January forced the students to abandon all their fund-raising plans.  We are very proud of all our students for their contributions to our wider community.
