Girls Belong Here – AstraZeneca Challenge

WKGS students from Year 9 - 13 took part in the 'Girls Belong Here' challenge run by AstraZeneca. They spent the day working in two teams completing an innovation challenge and the two teams from WKGS finished 1st and 2nd overall. International Day of the Girl was first recognised 10 years ago to celebrate the power of girls and shine a light on the obstacles they face. It was created to tear down barriers of discrimination and prejudice that continue to hold girls back. Through this annual campaign, girls occupy spaces of leadership and decision making, showing that they have the right to be there. Through initiatives like 'Girls Belong Here', girls and business leaders can address key issues and work towards a more equitable future. Congratulations to everyone who took part and thank you to AstraZeneca for hosting the challenge.
