School & Community Fund
The WKGS School & Community Fund helps us provide opportunities, activities and additional support for our students that would not otherwise be possible from the school’s core budget alone.
We are extremely grateful to the parents, carers, alumni and members of the wider school community who support the Fund. Every contribution helps us to do more for our students.

Why is the School Fund needed?
The role of School Fund is changing. Historically, donations were largely used to provide additional equipment, activities, treats and rewards to enrich school life. As pressure on school budgets has increased, School Fund is now playing a more important role in helping us to protect activities and support that can no longer always be fully funded from the school’s core budget.
Our aim is to use the Fund where it can make the greatest difference to students.
1. Protecting opportunities and experiences
We want students to continue to benefit from the wider opportunities that are an important part of life at WKGS.
School Fund supports activities including travel to competitive sports fixtures and competitions, educational visits, enrichment activities and wider school experiences.
In 2025/26, the Fund helped students to represent WKGS at competitive sports fixtures, supported our track and field competition, contributed towards a rugby trip to Twickenham and helped fund activities and celebrations across the school.
2. Supporting student wellbeing, safety and recognition
School Fund enables us to provide additional support where it can make a direct difference to students.
This includes pastoral and wellbeing support, measures that contribute to student health and safety, and activities that recognise student effort and achievement.
During 2025/26, the Fund supported additional child bereavement counselling, our Kitt Medical anaphylaxis kit, student celebration breakfasts and the Positive Streak Rewards Shop.
3. Enhancing curriculum and extracurricular provision
The Fund helps us provide equipment, resources and activities that enrich both the curriculum and extracurricular opportunities available to students.
Recent examples include maintaining our climbing wall and providing staff refresher training, purchasing portable handball goals and supporting Design & Technology activities through our portable pizza oven.
We hope to place a particular focus on supporting the performing arts in 2026/27.
The difference your support makes
In 2025/26, parents and members of the school community raised £16,500, including Gift Aid, for the School & Community Fund.
During the year, the Fund also spent £16,500 supporting activities, equipment and additional provision for students.

How can I support the Fund?
There is no required contribution, and you should only donate an amount that you can comfortably afford.
If you are able to support the Fund, we suggest a contribution of £60 per academic year, or £5 per student per month.
Regular donations are particularly valuable because they help us plan ahead and continue supporting activities and opportunities throughout the year.
The easiest and quickest way is using GoFundMe or Wonderful.org as you can pay quickly online and they automatically recover any Gift Aid on our behalf:
