KS4 Specification - Edexcel
The Business and Economics department consists of two teachers, who are subject specialists and passionate about their specialty.
At Key Stage 4 pupils are taught GCSE Business. The course actively engages students in starting and growing a small business, through investigating topics such as Enterprise and Entrepreneurialship; Marketing; Finance; Human Resources; Management and Wider Economic issues.
At Key Stage 5 we offer both A-level Economics and A-level Business. Both key stages follow the Edexcel examination board specifications, with the new GCSE Business and A-level Economics and Business specifications.
During lessons, pupils are encouraged to closely monitor and report on economic markets, news events and business developments, both nationally and internationally, in order to bring relevant context into their studies.
Recent GCSE Business trips have included Alton Towers, Chester Zoo, Cadbury’s World and talks from Fraser Doherty.
A-level trips have included London Economics Conference, Jaguar Land-rover, The University of Sheffield and talks from Bauer Media, The Investment Manager for Wirral and Europcar.
