Jo Halliday has worked in the education sector for 30 years having experience as a drama teacher, arts worker, educator, arts consultant, bid writer, presenter and advisory roles within Local Authorities and voluntary sector. Over the years she has taught English and drama in Primary, secondary and higher education leading INSET, managed staff and students with theatre projects; and lead a team of youth workers and grant applications in both education and third sector context generating over 2 million pounds in funding. Jo believes that using drama within the classroom enables young people to develop skills such as confidence, self-esteem, agility, resilience, creativity, team work as well as developing specific performance skills. She leads on initial teacher training developing a programme of support and CPD for over 100 trainee teachers. Jo loves being in the classroom as much as she did 30 years ago and is keen to work with the new teachers of tomorrow.
