West Kirby Grammar School provides excellent pastoral care to ensure that all students receive the very best advice, support and guidance and to ensure they reach, not only their academic potential, but also become well rounded individuals who are well prepared for the world beyond school.
Each students is placed into one of nine form groups with an experienced Form Tutor who will guide them throughout their post-16 education.
Tutors work closely with the students on a daily basis and continue to monitor their academic progress, help them log their achievements throughout the year and guide them through their UCAS preparation and university applications.
This work is led by Mrs Joanne Noble, Director of Sixth Form. Mr Scott (Deputy Head) and Mrs Cliffe (Assistant Head) support Mrs Noble by overseeing the Sixth Form academic and pastoral sectors respectively.
As well as being Assistant Head of Sixth Form, Mrs Sheena Harris, a dedicated Sixth Form Mentor, works closely with students on a one-to-one basis outside the classroom and provides effective learning. Mrs Noble is based in the main school building and Mrs Harris is based in our Sixth Form Centre, Easedale.
We also liaise with external agencies, where necessary, to ensure full support for our Sixth Formers.
