It all adds up at Oxford!
One of our Y12 students joined St Anne's College Summer School for a five day intensive mathematics course. She recounts her experience below:
The Oxford summer school was 5 days from 7-11th August 2017. Throughout the 5 days we did mainly group activities in groups of 4-6 people and covered different maths concepts and theories which were designed to reflect what maths would be like at degree level. It was a very useful week as it helped me develop problem solving skills which hopefully I can apply to A level maths and further maths. Each day consisted of 4 lessons(1.5 hour in length). Lessons were delivered by maths professors and lecturers from Oxford University. The evenings consisted of bowling, a talent competition, and free time off campus which enabled us to look around Oxford.
It was a week that I enjoyed because not only did I learn valuable maths skills, but was given the opportunity to meet new people and experience what it is like to stay on campus for 5 days.
